Junior Achievement of North Florida reached 225 school-age children in 1963, the first year of operation in North Florida.

This year, JA local businesspeople taught 813 JA classes and reached 22,863 students, the most students reached in one year in its 45-year history, the agency said in a news release.

"Students, teachers and volunteers who use JA programs know that JA is education that works," Junior Achievement of North Florida President Steve St. Amand said in the news release. "Setting this record underscores our commitment to helping more and more young people become aware of finances, financial responsibilities, entrepreneurship, self-reliance, job skills, employment and the important role education plays in their future."
