Man is robbed when he arrives for appointment to show house

A 80-year-old man had an appointment to show his house in the 2200 block of Rogero Road but had an unpleasant surprise when he opened the door at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Two men charged him from the kitchen. One struck him on the head with a gun and knocked him to the ground, police said. The robbers left with his cell phone and wallet containing $150.
A 30-year-old motorist called police when he heard the victim scream: "They're trying to rob me. They hit me in the head with a pistol." The victim was treated by rescue personnel.
-An armed man robbed La Raza Mexican Grocery at 21 Arlington Road N. at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Police said he entered the store, pointed a gun at a 26-year-old employee and told her in Spanish to give him the money. After she opened the cash register, he placed an estimated $1,000 into a white plastic bag and tried to pull her into the bathroom, police said. But she held onto the freezer door and wouldn't let go. Police said the robber got into a tan Ford pickup truck.
The following are crimes and other incidents reported recently in Arlington to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office:
Home invasion robbery:
Travel Inn, 747 Arlington Road N. - Two men entered an open door and pointed guns at the 51-year-old occupant, forcing him to lie down in the bathroom until they left. They took about $80 in change and two cartons of cigarettes during the robbery at 4:20 p.m. Aug. 12. The men left in a white Ford Expedition with a gold stripe down the side.
Armed robbery:
Hess, 7103 Merrill Road - Two armed men entered the station and told the 34-year-old employee to get on the floor or they would shoot. One opened the cash drawer and took $506 while the other said, "Don't worry about that, Anthony," the employee told police.
Burglary:
Bullseye Indoor Gun Range, 6041 Atlantic Blvd. - Someone stole 23 guns valued at $9,297 between 7 p.m. Aug. 12 and 7 a.m. the next day. The security door was forced open, the front glass door smashed and three glass cases shattered.
Shooting/throwing a deadly missile:
1000 block of Westdale Drive - Someone fired 11 to 15 shots between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Aug. 14, with several hitting a house.
An occupant told police she heard several gunshots go off in the nearby area. Police said she got scared and hid in the house.
Police found several bullet holes on the outside of the house, as well as an apparent rifle round inside. A white 1996 Chevrolet Astro also was hit.
