Police briefs: Woman throws a boiling chicken, police say

There was a simmering dispute in Murray Hill last week.
The weapon: A pot of boiling chicken.
The victim, 37, of the Westside, told police a woman staying with her grabbed the pot from the stove and threw it on her after breaking several glass table decorations and two television sets.
The incident happened about 1:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 3600 block of Rosselle Street, according to a police report.
The victim was treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center for non life-threatening burns on her back, the report said.
Police arrested the other woman, 20, of the Westside, on aggravated battery and criminal mischief charges.
The following are crimes and other incidents reported recently on the Westside and in surrounding neighborhoods:
Armed robbery:
Riverside Park, 753 Park St. - A 26-year-old Riverside man told police he was robbed about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday while sitting on a park bench with his girlfriend, 25, of the Westside. He said a man in a black ski mask pointed a gun at him, then took his cell phone and wallet.
3500 block of Post Street - A man with a gun robbed two men, 30 and 46, as they walked into their residence shortly after midnight Monday, police were told. The robber forced them to the ground, then took a bottle of cologne and their wallets, one containing $200.
Colonial Forest Apartments, 5928 Firestone Road - A Papa John's Pizza delivery man was working when three men robbed him at gunpoint about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 13, according to a police report. The victim said they took $150, his cell phone and two pizzas.
Home-invasion robbery:
Normandy Apartments, 1791 Helen Drive - A 92-year-old woman told police two men pried open her front door, then pushed her down and ransacked her living room and bedroom shortly before 9 p.m. Monday. She said they took her pocket book and a laptop computer valued at $2,400.
Burglary/grand theft:
RNR Wheels and Tires, 5436 Blanding Blvd. - The company van, about $2,700 from the safe, and an estimated $32,460 in tires and wheels were stolen between 6 p.m. Aug. 16 and 8 a.m. Monday, according to a police report. The van was later found after it was involved in a hit-and-run crash, and several of the sets of tires and wheels were inside.
Grand theft:
Paxon Shopping Center, 750 Edgewood Ave. N. - Copper lines and aluminum coils were stripped between 4:30 p.m. Aug. 13 and 7 a.m. Aug. 14 from nine rooftop air-conditioning units, according to a police report. The units, which were destroyed, were valued at $7,000 each, the report said.
